Devils, goblins, imps and other diabolical creatures are omnipresent figures in the portuguese popular culture, especially in the regions of Minho and Trás-os-Montes, where the devil appears frequently in the daily life, assuming the most diverse faces.
With this exhibition at Cruzes Canhoto, we intend to show a part of this underworld, by presenting a set of drawings, paintings and sculptures of various popular and outsider artists, and hence revealing the multiplicity of interpretations and derivations of the figure of the devil.
